Stainless steel coil is one of the most common forms of stainless steel. Stainless steel flat materials are generally produced in rolls up to 12 mm thick.
These materials can be used in the form of rolls, or they can be customized according to the needs by going through the straightening and length cutting, slitting, or grinding processes in the machine park in our service center.
It is used in all kinds of sectors including automotive, catering and construction in addition to several engineered applications. Products that can be made from stainless steel strips include surgical instruments, springs, flexible tubing, filtration devices, cutlery and heating elements.
After passing through the leveler (rectifier) and gaining linearity, the materials are cut to the desired length in the Cut-To-Length Line. In the meantime, the material can be coated with paper or PVC. As a result, waste is reduced by supplying materials in the sizes requested by the customer rather than standard sizes.
Unlike the previously mentioned longitudinal cut, a width cut is made in the slitting line. As a result, the width of the roll has reached the desired width. Edge trimming of a few mm, as well as narrow coils or strips with a minimum width of 10 mm, can be done on the slitting line in Hisco Steel. In the meantime, the material can be coated with paper or PVC. Later in the slitting process, cut-to-length or even grinding processes can be performed, and the material can be obtained in accordance with the customer’s demand. Thus, waste is reduced by supplying material in customer-specified widths rather than standard widths.
Surface grinding is used to create brushed surfaces on flat materials with 2B or BA surfaces in the grinding line. In the meantime, the material can be coated with paper or PVC. The most common stony surfaces encountered are No4 and Scotch Brite. In contrast to the 2D matte surface on which skinpass is applied after cold drawing and annealing, stony surfaces are more commonly used in decoration, particularly in built-in products.
Stainless steel coils are stocked by Hisco Steel in a wide variety of grades and all commercial sizes are in production. The capacity of our machine park in our service center has been physically planned and put into practice to make all stainless steel coils produced in the world suitable for customer demand. This means that any stainless steel coil that can be physically produced can be obtained from Hisco Steel.
You can find all grades and sizes of stainless steel coil commercially available in the world in Hisco Steel‘s ready stocks. You can also contact the Hisco Steel team for special grades that are not in stock.
