AISI 310S – X8CrNi25-21 – DIN 1.4845
310 grade, is produced for heat resistance purposes. In normal conditions this grade is resistant up to 1100 °C degrees.
In the oxidising conditions, when the heat is constant maximum heat resistance can reach 1100 °C degrees, but if the heating is scattered thisgrade is recommenended up to 1030 °C degrees.
310S grade, is resistant to heat in both dry and moist environments. Due to lower Carbon (C) content, 310S grade has higher resistance to heat than 310. Also with its high Chromium (Cr) content, they also have good corrosion resistance in moist enviornments. Under normal conditions their corrosion resistance is great.
Their weldability is good with all the welding methods. Machinability is possible with the right tools, but it is more difficult than 304 grade. Cold forming is very good. All the mechanial properties are superior to many austenitic grades.
